Environmentally Friendly An important part of the anodizing process is the management and treatment of the chemicals used. Lorin Industries has invested significant resources in establishing an on-site environmental wastewater discharge facility in compliance with local, state and federal standards and in training employees in wastewater management.

This award winning system separates water from chemicals – purifying the water to a level that it can be safely routed and discharged to the local county water-treatment plant, while isolating and neutralizing solid waste and diverting them to locally designated and approved land-fills.

Clarifying - Our larger clarifier unit holds up to 250,000 gallons and on average turns this over three times daily. In addition, we have a 50,000-gallon buffer tank.

Solid Waste Management - In addition, we have two filter presses used for our solid waste. Lorin processes approximately 40,000 pounds of solid waste per day.

Acid Reclaim – Phosphoric and Sulfuric acids are reclaimed and recycled and reused in our anodize process. The acids are processed through purification systems to remove aluminum from the acid so that it can be reused.

Energy Friendly Much of the energy used to anodize aluminum is produced in Lorin’s Co-Generation plant. Heat from this system that would normally be wasted is recovered and used to generate steam used within our anodizing process. Lorin generates 3.2 Mega Watts of power within our Co-Generation plant – enough to supply the electrical needs of a small city.
People Friendly Anodizing is a people friendly process from start to finish. The process does not use hazardous solvents and is run with solutions of aqueous chemicals. Lorin uses state of the art ventilation control and pollution control equipment to keep the environment in our plant clean, and prevent acids from being discharged into the atmosphere outside our plant. Walking through our anodizing facility, the most potent element you will come into contact with is the air, something we breathe every day.
GREEN As the world drives toward more environmentally friendly, Eco-friendly brands and products, we believe that the true color of anodizing will dominate as the GREEN finishing alternative.
