WE ARE LORIN

Achieving Signature Impact with Ease.
Reflect Your Vision.

WE BELIEVE IN ANODIZED ALUMINUM

We believe in aluminum because we’ve seen what it can do. Since 1943, we’ve been improving the process, to the point that Lorin continues to be the global leader with the ability to create the most unique and durable finishes ever made. Throughout the journey, we’ve adopted smarter, environmentally sustainable methods. We’ve changed the game with anodized aluminum, our infinite colors and unmatched longevity are what makes our aluminum the premier solution for designers worldwide.

CREATION WITHOUT LIMITATION

For over 75 years, we’ve worked to make anodized aluminum the best option for products, projects, and the visionaries behind them. Beautiful designs shouldn’t be held hostage to restrictions and costly build challenges—a material should reflect the brilliance of innovation without limiting it. For any signature look you desire, anodized aluminum is reflective, customizable, consistent, and 100% recyclable—perfect for making a statement in every way.

BEAUTIFUL FROM BEGINNING TO END

Family-owned for over 75 years, Lorin aluminum can be seen shining brilliantly on some of the world’s most iconic structures and designs, and, no matter the age, they are always radiant. Three times tougher than the raw material, anodized aluminum won’t chip, flake, peel, patina, rust, or weather. And to make things easy, we clean, anodize, color, seal, cut, and deliver ready-to-fabricate coils all in one stop. To put it simply, no matter how grand the creative vision, we’ll make the process easy and provide a product that lasts and lasts and lasts.

ANYWHERE YOU NEED TO BE

Lorin is globally accessible for projects of any scale at any location. Our culture is one of creative problem-solving and collaboration, aiming to see your vision through—and the standards required by everyone involved—long after the life of the project. On a team, people make all the difference. Let’s work together and create something beautiful to help you reflect your vision..

FROM THE MILL

Aluminum occurs naturally in a mineral called bauxite. The bauxite refining process produces a fine, white powder called alumina and electricity is applied to separate the aluminum from the oxygen. Small amounts of other metals can be added to the molten aluminum creating different alloys to add strength and increase corrosion resistance. The molten metal is then cast into ingots or blocks which are rolled into coils and ready for shipment.

For many applications, the surface appearance of the metal is critical. So we work to qualify mills to purchase the highest grade of Anodized Quality (AQ) material available. It is important that we start with the highest grade alloy because anodizing enhances the surface appearance of the aluminum beneath.

COIL ANODIZING

Coil anodizing, what is it? Well, it is not an applied coating. It’s an electrochemical process, where we grow the aluminum oxide layer from the raw aluminum creating a long lasting protective finish that will not chip, flake or peel. The end result is an aluminum that provides many inherent benefits including, cost and production efficiencies, beauty, versatility, and sustainability.

COIL ANODIZING vs.
BATCH ANODIZING

COIL ANODIZING Process is tightly controlled creating a uniform anodic layer resulting in a very consistent surface appearance and elegant colors.

COIL ANODIZING Coils are placed at the start of the process and remain unhandled until the end of the process, resulting in less scrap and lower costs.

BATCH ANODIZING An electrical contact must be made on each part which causes a rack mark. Trimming rack marks will increase scrap and overall processing costs.
